Weltimmo was heard by the CJEU in March andthe Advocate General’s opinion is due at the end of this month. Its got far less attention than Schrems, but Weltimmo may prove highly significant as it considers the jurisdiction of individual Data Protection Authorities within the EU. As such it may have implications for the proposed Data Protection Regulation, which is being debated by the EU’s legislature at present.
